7 core protocols ship in the MPE binary. Everything else is a plugin — install with one command.

Install a Plugin

From the desktop app, open Settings → Plugin Market, or ask the built-in AI Copilot: "install the redis plugin". From the CLI:

mpe plugin install <name> --registry https://multi-protocol-flow.github.io/mpe-plugin-registry

Or set MPE_PLUGIN_REGISTRY once — then mpe plugin install <name> works without flags.

Note: Native Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server hosting is built directly into the host binary (with a shared gateway on port 9528 via mpe mcp serve or GUI Settings). Plugins are used for calling external MCP tools, databases, and message brokers.
